Violet Mmabogatsu Matlou

Co-Founder of ANC Women's League


Born 04-04-1920 in Rustenburg South Africa

Violet Matlou married ANC Youth League member Joe Matlou in 1950 and thereafter became very involved in the politics of the time. In 2011, she was awarded the Order of Luthuli in Bronze for the sacrifices she made in advancing the struggle to achieve a free and democratic dispensation in South Africa.
