Verna Vels a well known witter, achieved great success as radio and television personality . Verna was responsible for on programs on art and programs concerning the youth. She was closely involved in the planning of television programs for the establishment of the Afrikaans service and have the children's magazine started. Her work includes, " Dear Verna Heksie", the stories were originally written for radio and later published and edited for television and video.
