Incarcerated & prosecuted twice in the 1970's under section 6 of the then Terrorism Act of 1967.

Worked in underground structures of the ANC

Participated in many encounters between ANC & many sectors of SA society, especially in political arena.

Played an active role at World Trade Centre, Kempton Park, in the development of Chapter on Fundamental Rights which constitutes an important part of the interim Constitution.

Member of ANC's team at the Mandela-De Klerk Summit which adopted the Record of Understanding (26 September 1992).

Part of: ANC's team that worked with Cyril Ramaphosa & Roelf Meyer from July/August 1992 to revive the negotiations process subsequent to the Biopatong Massacre

Participated in establishment of Codesa

Member of ANC delegation to Groote Schuur & Pretoria Talks May & August 1990

Assisted in formulation of Harare Declaration and the launch of Talks About Talks that led to negotiations in March 1990
