Shireen Sapiro

South African Paralympic Swimmer


Born 25-01-1991 in Krugersdorp

Shireen Sapiro is swimmer for the South African Paralympic Team. On the 29 September 2007 she broke the World Record in the 50m Backstroke. She then broke the 100m backstroke record at the 2008 Summer Paralympics - winning herself the gold medal for the event. At the 2009 Maccabiah Games, Sapiro was appointed flag bearer for the South African delegation at the opening ceremony.
