Agliotti worked as a consultant to Kebble and his gold mining company JCI.

In 1999, he stood trial alongside three Congolese nationals for sending 72 tons of sand to the US, rather than a consignment of cobalt worth R11m. He was acquitted of these charges.

As of 2006, he faces charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the high profile murder case of Brett Kebble.

He became rich in the late ?80s and owns properties in some wealthy Johannesburg suburbs.
