He has been recognised as having contributed significantly to the peaceful South African election in April 1994.

He has led missions to numerous African cities, as well other countries in the world, including Australia, England, Canada, New Zealand, Belgium, Costa Rica, Israel, Nicaragua, Ireland and Panama. He has also established evangelistic teams in Congo (

In 1983 he was admitted to the Order of Simon of Cyrene. This is the highest honour bestowed upon a layman by the Church of the Province of Southern Africa (Anglican).

He was request by then President Nelson Mandela to spearhead Project Ukuthula, an extensive and successful peace initiative in KwaZulu-Natal leading up to the province's local government elections.
