Joe Slovo South African politician. Former Minister Department of Housing, Government of National Unity; Leader: Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK); Member: South African Communist Party (SACP); In 1955 he became the first white member of the National Executive Committee of the ANC. An informal settlement in Langa, Cape Town is called Joe Slovo, to honour the Anti-Apartheid activist.
