Joost is best known for being captain of Bulls Vodacom Super 12 in 2002 and 2003. He had a stint as television Interviewer at Kyknet, co-presenting with ex-wife Amor. In July 2004 he joined Supersport as a commentator until his contract ended in 2009. He was also part of SA Sevens RWC team in 1993 and 1997. Joost is also author of "Spieelbeeld" (Man in the mirror).
