Bevan is recognised as a global expert in commodities, notably coal. As GM of London Commodity Brokers South Africa, he is now helping to develop domestic commodity markets. Previously as Head of Metals & Energy Trading at RMB he provided risk management solutions for commodity clients whilst running the bank's energy and metals trading books. Prior to RMB, Bevan was a founder of globalCOAL - the world's online coal marketplace with shareholders including Anglo American, BHP Billiton, Glencore, E.ON Energy etc. Bevan has a mining engineering degree from WITS University.
