Jeremy Cronin

Deputy Minister of Transport


Born 12-09-1949 in Durban

Jeremy Cronin is the Deputy Minister of Transport. He was a Member of Parliament and is the Deputy General-Secretary of the SA Communist Party. Cronin was politically imprisoned for seven years, from 1976 to 1983, at Pretoria Maximum Security Prison, and his first poem collection, Inside (1983), reflects his experiences there. Other poetry collections include Even the Dead (1997) and Inside and Out (1999).
