South African Businessman


Born 17-11-1952 in Soweto South Africa

Matamela Ramaphosa is a South African Lawyer and Businessman. He is best known for founding the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), the most powerful trade union in South Africa. Ramaphosa is also known for the role he played during the negotiations to bring a peaceful end to the apartheid and to steer the country towards its first democratic elections in 1994. In early 2011 Ramaphosa took over the McDonald's franchise in South Africa.
