Teressa is the Corporate Social Investment manager at Webber Wentzel Attorneys. Working closely with the Senior Partner and the CSI Committee she is tasked with the responsibility of building Webber Wentzel’s profile as an organisation that is serious about investing in the growth of South Africa.
Previously Teressa has worked as part of the research and evaluation team at GreaterCapital where she successfully completed a number of research projects on behalf of clients including Old Mutual Foundation, Woolworths and Edcon. Greater Capital is a social enterprise providing strategic impact investment advice and opportunities as part of the GreaterGood group.
Having started her career in the youth development sector as a field worker and later as a manager of a youth resource centre then as national programmes manager; Teressa gained valuable insight on youth and social development challenges in her roles and during her travels to the United States, the Netherlands, Denmark, Kenya, and Tanzania on various training and exchange programmes both as project manager and participant. She is also credited as a contributing author of the Youth On-Track peer educational manual published in 2007 by the Danish Network on AIDS and development.
As an independent consultant she worked as a project facilitator on various social development projects, provided corporate training on various topics ranging from computer skills to workplace diversity. Apart from hands on experience, her skills and knowledge are drawn from reading, attending seminars, forums, conferences, and keeping abreast of development in the social development and corporate social responsibility arena.
Teressa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg with subject majors in Psychology and Management. She has also completed the Certified Empowerment Technician (CEt) and Certified Empowerment Advisor (CEAd) certificates through the Empowerdex Professional Network (EPN) programme.
