Taswell Papier is a director at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs (ENS). He currently practices as an attorney in the corporate commercial department. Papier ran a Mitchell’s Plain township office which was incorporated into ENS in 2004. He has established a number of committees and systems on behalf of the Department of Marine and Coastal Management. He also advises the Department on strategic matters in relation to fishing and marine resources. Papier has on three occasions been appointed as an acting Judge in the High Court of Cape Town. He is a past president of the Cape Law Society and previously chaired the Disciplinary Committee of the Cape Law Society for many years. He is a past chairperson of the Law Society of South Africa’s Pro Bono Committee and is a member of the National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL). He is also a past member of the Council of the Law Society of South Africa and the Board of Control of the Attorneys Fidelity Fund.
