Shereen Tebogo Bogosing is a Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng), with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). With her studies she started her working career and joined African Consulting Engineers (ACE) in 1995, which merged with Arcus GIBB in 1997, worked and acquired experience in transportation planning, traffic calming, public transport planning, assessment of public transport facilities, integration of land use, rail commuter studies, stormwater, geometric and pavement designs. Public participation has been part of most of the projects she has been involved with since 1996.
For a period of 8 months in 1999, she worked on a contract basis for Pedi Consulting Services (PCS) where she successfully completed projects in roads and stormwater as a resident engineer. In 1999, she joined MPA, where she further enhanced her experience and successfully completed projects in transportation planning, designs & project management in sewer reticulation.
In 2001, she established a consulting firm, Kgatelopele Consulting Engineers cc traded until 2005, she then registered Inimba Consulting Engineers (Pty) Ltd and traded from 2005 and ceased operations in 2010 due to the melt down in the construction industry, with the aim of assisting and participating in the planning provision, maintenance and operation of infrastructure for developing disadvantaged communities. In the above mentioned companies her role was Chief Executive Officer, which she set the direction and managed the operations of the company while guiding employees and her executives towards central objectives. Her passion is skills development, especially women in engineering and construction.
In 2010 she found myself in a predicament and felt that as a black female Engineer she has not yet accomplished her objectives and decided to establish Shereen Engineers, which her objectives in the latter is to train or rather ensure that the municipalities and other technical departments retain their technical staff while these staff members also acquire relevant engineering experience, which is a broad knowledge that these experience is only acquired at private practices, resulting in this municipalities departments loosing technical staff.
She is a recognized business leader, and for her accolades she is a Black Business Quarterly (BBQ) business woman of the year 2007/2008, Torch Bearer for Women in Infrastructure Development 2007/2008 hosted by former Gauteng Premier, Mr. Paul Mashatile, SA’s Most Influential Women in Business & Government (Business and Professional services) 2008/2009 and among many accomplishments she holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and Baccalaureus Technologiae Degree (B-Tech) in Civil Engineering from the Tshwane University of Technology and University of Johannesburg, respectively.
She serves as a board member on the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), serve as a trustee on the Barloworld Education Trust (BET), and also serve as a council member for the Institute of Municipal Engineering of South Africa (IMESA).
She is a member of various industry bodies including, the Institute of Professional Engineering Technologists (IPET), South African Women in Construction (SAWIC), the Institute of Directors (IoD), Business Women Association (BWA) and the Black Management Forum (BMF) to name but a few.
Shereen is also involved in Oil and Gas Project Management and its business.
