Satcam Boolell


Born 11-09-1920 in Mauritius

Satcam Boolell joined the Mauritius Labour Party in 1955. Sir Boolell had an illustrious career as a Government Minister. He held the portfolio of Agriculture and Natural Resources for 22 years and oversaw the development of agriculture and the transformation of rural Mauritius. Sir Boolell also held the portfolio of Education between 1967 and 1968 and that of Economic Planning and Development in 1983 and 1984.
He was knighted in recognition of his contribution to the nation’s advancement in 1977.
