Sam Phillips

South African Actor

Sam Phillips is a South African actor, writer, music composer, director and producer. He is best known for his role as Odwa in the SABC1 Television Series Soul City. In 2011 he stared in the M-Net soapie 'The Wild'. In the 1980's he has worked as an Assistant Editor for Kinnerland and Scholtz Filoms on numerous films such as Motlhalefi Molefe, Ifa lika Mthetwa and Masechaba. He also directed Woza Albert at the McGowan theatre at UCLA. He also worked as producer on films such as Nna Sajene Kokobela and 102 Paradise Complex. Phillips composed music for 102 Paradise Complex and wrote lyrics for the feature Bopha!
