Nkosi was the longest surviving child born with the virus in South Africa when he died. Although just 12 years old when he died, he was a prominent AIDS activist who used his life to give HIV/AIDS sufferers hope and inspiration.; In 1999 Nkosi won the battle to be allowed as a HIV-positive child to attend a primary school. His case resulted in the national education policy being changed to ensure that no infected child or teacher may be prevented from attending a school in South A
