Nicandro Durante

Nicandro Durante was appointed Chief Operating Officer in January 2008. He becomes Chief Executive Designate on 1 September 2010. He joined British American Tobacco, Brazil (Souza Cruz) in 1981, after three years working in finance in two Brazilian companies. In 1996 he was seconded to the UK head office as Marketing Finance Controller. In 1998 Nicandro was appointed Finance Director in Hong Kong and in 2002 he went back to Brazil as Finance Director for Souza Cruz. In April 2002 he was appointed President of Souza Cruz. He was appointed British American Tobacco Regional Director for Africa and Middle East in March 2006.
