Jerry Coovadia is a member of the National Planning Commission. Coovadia is currently the Scientific Director at the Doris Duke Medical Research at the University of Natal. He has published leading papers on the basic science and pathogenesis, clinical management, epidemiology, prevention, and contextual factors, for the major causes of morbidity, disability and mortality, among Africa`s children.

Trueman Goba
Trueman Goba is registered as a Professional Engineer. He is the Executive Chairman of Goba (Pty) Ltd, Consulting Engineers and Project Managers. He established a consulting engineering practice with Ebenezer Moahloli which grew partly through mergers into a well established multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firm and employs some 500 professional and support staff in total, with offices in Gauteng, Kwazulu Natal, Eastern Cape and Western Cape. The company has been involved in several award winning projects in SA, such as the Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg, the Berg River Dam in Western Cape, various bridges and road network sections in Eastern Cape, and the Durban Harbour Tunnel in Kwazulu Natal. He was President of the SA Institution of Civil Engineering in 2002, and President of the Engineering Council of SA between 2007 and 2009.
