Mr Khutso Mampeule is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Lefa Group Holdings(Lefa), an investment holding and advisory services company he established in 2003. Mr Mampeule spearheads the acquisition of stakes in and/or formation of joint ventures with other companies and is accountable for raising capital to fund the group’s activities. Successful investment transactions include ground-breaking deals in aviation, wine and spirits, agri-business and tourism (tour operation). Through its subsidiary, Lefa Advisory Services,the company focuses on providing turn-key farm management solutions.
Mr Mampeule serves as a director and/or Chairman of a number of listed and unlisted companies in South Africa. He is a trustee of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) South Africa, Chairman of Akani Foundation, an immediate past member of the Advisory Board at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, and a member of and Regional Chairman of the Young Presidents Organization (Africa).
Mr Mampeule has held a number of leadership positions in Corporate South Africa, including having served as the Group CEO of the South African Post Office, CEO of Old Mutual Employee Benefits, CEO of South African Express Airways, and Executive Manager of Africa’s largest iron-ore export business, OREX. He holds BA, MSC and MBA degrees from the United States of America.
