Henry Makgothi

Former President of the African National Congress Youth League

Henry Makgothi was a teacher, member and President of the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League. He was an accused in the 1956 Treason Trial, and was also detained on Robben Island for eight years for trying to leave the country without a passport. Makgothi died after a stroke in early 2011.
