Harry Schwarz

Harry Heinz Schwarz


Born 13-05-1924 in Cologne Germany

Harry Heinz Schwarz was a South African lawyer, politician, diplomat, statesman and leader in the anti-apartheid movement. As a young German immigrant he suffered from discrimination and financial difficulties of his family. This left a strong impression on Schwarz and helped shape his political philosophy which had its emphasis on social justice and the rule of law. In World War II he served SAAF as a Navigator in the Middle East and Europe, seconded to the RAF.He died on 5 February 2010 at the age of 85.
