The Cape Town-based Bandwidth Barn has been in operation since 2000 and is today regarded as one of the leading ICT business incubators in the world. The Bandwidth Barn is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Cape IT Initiative (CITI), a Section 21 company, and the development and promotions agency for the ICT sector in the Western Cape.

CITI was founded in June 1998 by a group of business people who saw the potential to create an ICT (Information & Communications Technogies) networking and cluster development agency that brings together people, ideas and capital to create a strong ICT community, increase the attractiveness of the Cape as an IT location, stem the loss of professional skills to Gauteng and overseas, and attract inward investment.

Responsible for BSG (International) which has subsiduaries in South Africa, UK, Mauritius. My role is currently to lead the organisation from being a start up in South Africa in 1997 to being a recognised brand and local alternative to large global consulting organisations for the provision of operational consulting and solution delivery services in the South African, pan African and United Kingdom corporate sector.
In addition, BSG has and continues to invest heavily in software solutions for key industry verticals such as People Effectiness, Commodity Trade Finance and Chronic Disease Management.

BSG’s winning entry in 2008 for the Corporate Service of the Year category detailed its excellent quality control procedures which have enabled it to deliver business consulting and software development at extremely high standards.

BSG won the title of Innovator of the Year in 2007 for its entry based on the SMART system. SMART was designed based on national guidelines for administering the roll-out of antiretroviral treatment in South Africa.
