Born in South Africa

Gideon Louw represented South Africa at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China, in the 50m freestyle men's race. He was named NJCAA Swimmer of the Year in 2008 and became a member of the South Africa Olympic Team on April 24, 2008, after swimming a 22.06 in the 50m free at the South African Swimming Championships. He is representing South Africa at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India.
