Dawie de Villiers has a BcomHon(Accounting) and a Masters in Real Estate Sciences from the University of Pretoria. From 1998 to 2001, he served on the Property Committee of the University of Pretoria (UP) and in 2006 was selected as an external examiner for the Faculty Real Estate Management. He was a lecturer in Property Management for 6 years and is currently serving on the advice committee for the Department Construction Economics. He is the founding member of the MidCity Property Group, which is currently one of the largest property management and development companies in the Gauteng North region.

Heavy equipment supplier opens R57m residence complex for learners attending its training centre
Barloworld Equipment last week
officially opened a R57-million complex that will house students attending the new adjacent R130-million Barloworld Equipment Technical Training Centre (BETTC), in Isando, east of Johannesburg.
In February 2008, Barloworld Equipment mandated property development and management company Midcity to find an exist-
ing nearby facility that could be converted
into a residence for trainees attending the BETTC.
The facility chosen by Midcity is literally across the road from the BETTC.
“Practical completion was scheduled for July 30, 2009, but the project is already complete,” said Midcity CEO Dawie de Villiers at the roof-wetting ceremony late last month.
“We completed the changes and improvements to the facility in six months.”
MidCity Properties announced the purchase of Yellow Button Property Management (Pretoria) effective 1 March 2003. The company will in future be known as MIDCITY PROPERTY SERVICES (Pty) Ltd, resulting in the largest property management company in Pretoria. The company will in total manage over 250 residential and commercial buildings, with a property value in excess of R 4 billion.
