Bongani Tembe has received international recognition as one of Africa’s leading arts administrators; he is the Chief Executive & Artistic Director of the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra since 1996 after joining the then NPO as deputy director in October 1994;he appeared in the National Theatre in Brazil and Alice Tully Hall in New York; In 2004, he performed in a televised production of Beethoven's Fidelio on Robben Island as part of the SA celebration of 10 years of democracy
