Barbara Thompson is the Deputy Minister of Energy in South Africa. She has previously served as the Secretary of the Midlands' ANC Women’s League. She is currently a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC Women’s League in KZN. She joined Parliament in 1995. She holds a Certificate in Leadership Communication from Rhodes University as well as another in Government and Business Policy from Rhodes University.
