Former Miss South Africa (1985)

Andrea Stelzer competed in Miss Universe in 1989 and was a top 10 semi-finalist ; former Miss South Africa 1985, had to withdraw from the Miss Universe pagaent in 1985 because of anti-apartheid demonstrations; Andrea is the only Miss South Africa to represent another country in the Miss World contest. In 1989, she won the Miss Germany contest as she was of German origin and still had a German passport. A rose was named after her at the Bloemfontein Rose Show.
