Alwyn Martin

Alwyn Martin is a director of several companies and state bodies including 5 listed companies. He was previously an executive director of Siemens Limited and CEO of Siemens Telecommunications from 1997 until his retirement in 2002. He is a former partner of Ernst & Young South Africa.
Martin has a degree in Commerce from the University of Cape Town. In 1967 he was one of the first three black people to become Chartered Accountants in South Africa. He later became a founder partner of Christian, Martin & Abrahamse Chartered Accountants, the first black owned accounting firm in South Africa. He also serves as a non-executive director of Air Traffic Navigations Services Ltd, Credit Guarantee Ltd, Datacentrix Holdings Limited, Mediclinic Corporation Ltd, Santam Ltd and the TransHex Group Ltd.
